Nathan Hitchens

Nathan was a member of the Severe Weather Research Lab from 2006-10.  Graduating from Purdue with a Ph.D. in atmospheric science, he spent the next two years as a National Research Council Postdoctoral Research Associate at the National Severe Storms Laboratory in Norman, Oklahoma.  Nathan is currently an instructor at Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana.  His research interests include characterizing heavy and extreme precipitation at hourly timescales and forecast evaluation, specifically of the Storm Prediction Center's convective outlook products.
